About
Crystal, run by Crystal Project, Inc., was founded in Nashville in 2015 and describes itself as an AI coach built on personality assessments. Its free assessments cover personality, career and goals, and Crystal Premium adds written advice from those results, predicted assessments for other people and a brief before every meeting. Crystal for Chrome, included with Premium, shows a predicted personality beside LinkedIn profiles with guidance on how to talk to that person. For businesses, Crystal sells Team Assessments, Buyer Profiles that turn prospects into personality-aware profiles with meeting-prep briefs, and a credit-based Personality API and MCP server. The company says more than 2.5 million people have used its free personality products since 2015.
Crystal’s Story
Founder Drew D'Agostino writes that in 2014 he and his cofounder were fired from their first technology company, after which an executive coach introduced them to the DISC personality model. Crystal launched in March 2015 as a Chrome extension that gave DISC predictions from LinkedIn profiles, resumes and other public content.
The company later added other models, including Big Five and Enneagram, along with peer reviews and self-reflections, and now offers tools for both individuals and businesses.

What we’d expect selling here to look like

The business implies a mix of product-led sign-ups and a consultative sale where Buyer Profiles are set up with each sales team and priced to its volume.
